CongoAid is an organisation that was created to provide emergency and project support of the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). More specifically, it aims to provide support and assistance for the financial, medical and educational needs of the men, women and children of the DRC.

CongoAid works in close connection with a Congolese organization on the ground called Compassion for Children in Distress, run by a Congolese couple. Our support is funneled straight to them and they coordinate the funds based on local need in the associated orphanage or clinic. Rowena and Peter have had a working relationship with the Congolese organization for many years, and through their local expertise CondoAid has been able to directly assist many disadvantaged Congolese people.

In order to grow as an organization and work towards non-government organization status, and attaining tax deductibility, we need to expand our membership base. Membership can consist of support through a monthly financial contribution, such as $45 a month to provide food, clothing, medication, transport and school fees for the children in the orphanage. It can also be to support the generally unpaid orphanage teachers. Moreover, membership doesn’t necessarily need to be financial - assistance at fundraising events is extremely appreciated. The bottom line is, becoming a member shows continual support for CongoAid in whatever capacity you can assist.
